Origin Story
Matthew came up with Ungrid after getting sick of manually monitoring his farm well and personal electricity system. There was plenty of raw inverter data, but not enough clear direction about when something actually mattered and what to do next.
The spreadsheet era
He built scrappy SOC trackers and weather sheets to predict bad battery mornings. Useful, but fragile and impossible to scale.
Ungrid is born
Ungrid started as a practical tool for his own systems: one clear signal, early warning when reserves are at risk, and guidance that is easy to act on.
